This is an interesting post about the "emerging" trends in Blogging. I am not sure where Derren has been in the last few years, but Blogtronix has been doing this for a while now. Maybe this is just not very obvious for the non techy people out there. The overview is very good and the examples are exelent in general.
- Multiple Author Blogs - Blogtronix platfrom 1.0, Reuters, RedHerring, Fortune 100 banks, PartnerCompete, etc.
- Multi-Topic Blogs - Any Blogtronix powered site, New Radio Star
- Blogs Converging with Other Types of Sites - We have several project under way, that I can't talk about yet ;)
- Portal-Like Design - Reuters, and several Banks
- Indirect Monetization
Here is Derren's post: http://www.problogger.net/archives/2008/05/16/5-emerging-trends-in-blogging/
Over in the question widget on my sidebar I was asked to comment on the future of blogging and where I see it heading.
In this video post I explore 5 trends that have been emerging (and that I think we’ll see continue to grow) including:
- Multiple Author Blogs
- Multi-Topic Blogs
- Blogs Converging with Other Types of Sites
- Portal-Like Design
- Indirect Monetization
I should say though that I’m NOT saying that a blog can’t work when a blog doesn’t have these things. Blogs of all shapes and sizes will continue to have success.
